Los Angeles Clippers finally get to play with their full squad as Kawhi Leonard and Paul George made their debut in tandem to outlast Celtics in overtime with the score 107-104.
Leonard and George recorded a combined score of 42 points, with George scoring 25 and Leonard netting 17. The spotlight was also on Lou Williams ended the thrilling night with 27 points.
Clippers did play a sloppy game throughout the night, conceding 23 turnovers with their decision making and careless passing. “We were so sloppy. We were trying not to get in each others’ way. We need a lot of work. We’re trying to get the ball to guys instead of trying to score,” said Clippers coach Doc Rivers.
Paul George missed the first 11 games and Leonard also missed six due to injuries and also going through rehab, so none of them even practiced with each other once. The team definitely needs to spend more time in the gym to develop a better chemistry and to be in sync with the team.
However, this performance from the Clippers can be seen as a sneak peek of what’s to come in the following weeks of NBA as they polish on their teamwork and show why they are the title favourites this year.
