Here is a video summary on the event:
This year’s Agong Cup National Championship was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 2021 edition will be held in Melaka, and tentatively MABA is aiming the Agong Cup to be hosted in early May 2021.
The Agong Cup is MABA’s premier basketball tournament, which first started in 1958. Historically, the Agong Cup has always been an interstate competition. However, in 2019 clubs were also invited to participate. When the competition resumes next year, the Agong Cup will revert to its previous format with only state teams participating.
The official signing ceremony occurred on Tuesday 25th August 2020. The guest of honour for the event was Dato’ Saifuddin Bin Abdullah, Minister of Communications and Multimedia, who has always been an avid supporter of Malaysian basketball.
